The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection

Chapter 885

Upon seeing Billy's astonished expression, Felix was stunned. He hadn't expected Billy to notice something unusual,

Ever since getting to know Billy, Felix had come to trust him despite his air of mystery. With all the skills Billy possessed, if he wanted to harm Felix, he could have done so long ago. There was no need to wait. After some pondering, Felix decided to let Billy take a look while framing it as a joke. If Billy noticed something, they could discuss it. If not, it would just be a fleeting joke.

"What's wrong? Is there something different about my soul?" Felix pressed.

Billy widened his eyes and rubbed his chin. "What the heck did you get into this time? I don't know exactly what's in your soul, but as far as souls go, it's..."

After a long pause, Billy still hadn't said another word. Felix grew impatient. "Well? Is it good or bad?"

"Good! It's a blessing! Whatever this thing is, it nourishes the soul, enhances the power, and has countless benefits."

Billy rubbed his hands together and said something that sent a chill down Felix's spine. "If it weren't for my mentor's teachings and the fact that we're friends, I might consider taking it from you."

It seemed Helena hadn't been lying after all. The so-called Destiny Crystal was a

treasure.

"Why don't I feel anything?" Felix asked.

Billy shrugged. "You're not practicing any soul-related techniques right now. So, of course, you wouldn't notice. But once you've acquired all the Dragonspines and reached Dragons Destroyer, your soul will be able to evolve. Then you'll realize how incredible this thing is." Oh? Billy seemed to know more about Dragons Destroyer than Felix himself.

"Well, that's a relief," Felix said, feeling reassured.

Billy's gaze betrayed a flicker of jealousy, and he grumbled. "Man, comparing myself to you is annoying. Do you know how much hardship I've endured to get where I am? And yet, with this one stroke of luck, you're already set.

"Forget it. Let's not talk about it. Bring out your best wine. I'm going to drink it all tonight!"noveldrama

When Felix arrived at the clinic the next morning, Melissa ran up to him. "Felix, Selmer's been drinking alone in that tavern across the street. Something seems off with him."

"Is there a tavern that opened this early?" Felix cocked a brow but quickly brushed it off. Anything was possible with enough money. "What's wrong with him?"

Melissa shook her head, but Nala chuckled. He's jealous. You should go check on him. People always throw the term 'big baby' around, but I finally get it now." "A big baby?" Felix was puzzled.

Nala explained, "Selmer's been gloomy ever since you introduced Louise to him."

So that was it. Felix understood now what was up with Selmer.

He immediately headed to the tavern.

He hadn't let Louise stay at the clinic for two reasons-first, the clinic was too small.

More importantly, Louise was from the Greene family. The family was powerful and dangerous, and Felix still hadn't fully grasped its reach.

Knowing Aiden's nature, Felix was certain the family would stop at nothing to eliminate Louise. For now, it was safer for Louise to remain hidden until Felix dealt with the Greene family.

At the tavern, Selmer stood up the moment he saw Felix. "Mr. Zeller."

Felix studied him and joked, "Louise already achieved True Blood Realm. You, on the other hand, are still far from mastering Blood Realm."

The remark hit Selmer hard, and his expression turned unpleasant. "Mr. Selmar, it's my fault for not mastering my skills. I've failed to live up to your expectations."

As Felix's first follower, Selmer had always prided himself on being the top aide. But after Felix's latest trip, not only had he returned with a stronger ally, but Louise had achieved True Blood Realm. How could Selmer not feel disheartened? He feared being cast aside.
